This conference was attended by seven Moroccan political parties, including the Istiqlal Party, and political leaders from 19 Arab countries and 67 political parties and organizations.
Abdeljabbar Rachidi, a member of the Executive Committee of the Libra Party, welcomed the opportunity, which is important for the Chinese Communist Party and the Arab parties, and useful for strengthening the China-Arab strategic partnership. He recalled the signing of the Convention of the Joint Implementation Plan of the Belt and Road between Morocco and China, which marked a new era in cooperation between the two partners. The Istiqlalian official also stressed that “Morocco is an important partner in the “BRI Cooperation”, given its strategic location as a land of investment, exports and world trade, open to Africa, European and Asian markets and on the American continent”.
China is the largest economic partner of Arab countries with an annual trade volume of more than 240 billion dollars, he said. However, he pointed out that “Arab exports to China, with the exception of oil and gas, are not very diversified hence the need to strengthen and encourage these exchanges and increase their volume to include ‘other sectors’.
