EPSON confirms its commitment to the environmental cause

In partnership with the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) of the Casablanca-Settat region, and in the presence of Latifa Lamalif, Provincial Director of Education and Training at the Aïn Chock District Prefecture as well as Chorouq Machtache, Epson Business Account Manager for Francophone Africa, Al Moutanabi primary school hosted an event dedicated to the protection of the environment.

This day denotes the federation of the efforts of all stakeholders, including representatives of EPSON in Morocco, local authorities, and civil society, for the environmental cause. Bouchra Baibanou, mountaineer and first Moroccan and North African woman to have climbed Everest, presented a wide range of presentations to the school’s students, embellished with personal testimonies concerning the ecological collapse to which our planet is exposed.

“The objective is to make children aware of the wonders that our planet earth conceals in order to involve them more strongly in actions aimed at preserving it from the dangers that await it, by changing our attitudes in the future”, we read in a statement.

And to specify that “this initiative is spread over two days and targets 2,500 primary and preschool students as well as those with reduced mobility. Five establishments in the Sidi Maarouf region are concerned, namely: El Moutanabi School, Ali ibn Talib School, Salman Al-Farsi School, El Nahda School, and Ibn Kathir School”.

“Through this initiative, we try to make young people aware of environmental protection. EPSON has a long experience in this area, given that it has already collaborated with several establishments and bodies in favor of this issue. Epson’s commitment to sustainability goes back a long way. In 1988, it was the first company in the world to announce that it was eliminating from its activities chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) which attack the ozone layer,” Chorouq Machtache told us.

It should be noted that this demonstration joins the concerns which underlie the implementation of the bills of law n°51.17, in particular the project on the improvement of the activities of the life school and in application of the contents of the roadmap “2022-2026”.
