Born in Winterthur, Switzerland, Maurice Steger is considered one of the leading recorder virtuosos of our time. The international press praised him as “the Paganini of the recorder” (NZZ) or “the world’s leading recorder player” (The Independent). Like hardly any other flutist, he knows how to create entire worlds with his technically brilliant playing. In May, Maurice Steger performed with the violinist Amandine Beyer, the cellist Daniel Rosin and the harpsichordist Sebastian Wienand at the Musikverein in Vienna.
