On Tuesday, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg called for an extraordinary summit of NATO leaders to be held on March 24 in Brussels, where a meeting of heads of state and government of the European Union will also be held in the presence of US President Joe Biden. Stoltenberg said in a statement that this summit will focus on “the consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, our strong support for Ukraine, and the strengthening of NATO’s deterrence and defenses system in the face of a new reality for the sake of our security.” “At this critical moment, North America and Europe must continue to unite at the heart of NATO,” he added.
