Josh and Archie, a duo of British Youtubers, wanted to show in their new video to what extent food inflation is affecting their country. To do this, they compared a receipt in a local LIDL, with the total price of a trip abroad for the same shopping and in the same supermarket. The result will surprise you…

The two friends flew thanks to Ryanair to Poland. In London, for a shopping cart filled with 135 products, they paid the sum of €188.77. In Poznan, the same shopping list cost them €111.05.

Add to this last receipt the price of flights of €54 and that of accommodation of €10 via the Couchsurfing platform, and Josh and Archie were at more or less €175 in expenses. The calculation is simple and distressing: by taking the plane and doing their shopping in another country, the two Youtubers paid less than in their country.
