Google Gemini Launches Immersive Explorations for Interactive Learning

Google Gemini Launches Immersive Explorations for Interactive Visual Learning

Google has introduced Immersive Explorations in Gemini, a new feature designed to turn complex topics into interactive visual experiences with layered explanations, according to a post on October 28, 2026.

Layered Visuals for Complex Subjects

Reading about complicated subjects often leaves learners scratching their heads over static textbook diagrams and dry explanations. Immersive Explorations tackles this by letting users trace ancient trade routes on the Silk Road, peer inside a jet engine, or study the physics of lightning through interactive scenes. Tapping different parts of a scene reveals more information, taking users from big-picture concepts down to smaller details involving molecules and atoms.

Zooming and clicking on labels uncovers deeper layers of data. Google plans to integrate Immersive Explorations directly into active Gemini conversations, allowing users to jump straight into an interactive lesson while chatting with the AI. Audio narration is also on the way to guide learners through each visual layer.

Availability and Language Support

Users can access the new feature through the Gemini Student Hub by selecting the option to try immersive explorations, or by visiting the Immersive Explorations library directly. The tool is available on both the web and mobile platforms.

Language support at launch includes English, Indonesian, Hindi, Brazilian Portuguese, French, and Simplified Chinese. Other languages currently provide an English-only experience, though Google plans to expand language support in the future. The feature is available now to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts, with no special admin settings required.
