Al-Marsad newspaper: A weather analyst at the National Center of Meteorology, Aqil Al-Aqeel, said that the Kingdom has officially called for the winter season, since the meteorologically entered the spring season at the beginning of this March.
Al-Aqeel added, in his speech to Al-Ikhbariya channel, that the spring season will start astronomically on March 21 and 22, pointing out that the Kingdom will witness during this period weather fluctuations, and we may see the seasons of the year in one day.
He noted that the month of March will witness moderate to heavy rain in some parts of the Al-Jawf region and the northern borders, and heavier on Hail, Shaqra, Majmaah, the northern and northeastern parts and some parts of the Qassim region.
He pointed out that the Kingdom’s atmosphere will witness activity in the surface winds that lead to dust storms in the northeastern sector of the Kingdom, some central parts, and the Hail and Qassim regions.
He pointed out that wind speeds of up to 55 kilometers per hour cause storms that lead to a lack or almost absence of visibility, as is the case in the north-east of the Kingdom and begins to subside with the progression of daylight hours.
