The “trouble” of the case of the 42-year-old’s actions began to unravel when a priest from a neighboring prefecture reported to the Police that during the last 3 months, the 42-year-old had managed to extract an amount exceeding 6,000 euros, deceiving him, presenting false facts as true.
The Phaistos Police Department, in the context of investigating the complaint, rushed to the 42-year-old’s house where they carried out a check, finding a bayonet that initially sent the 42-year-old to the detention center.
At the same time, his mobile phone was confiscated as well as a pad of receipts, which the man is believed to have been cutting as proof of the money he received. However, dozens of priests’ phones were found on his mobile phone, inside and outside Crete – the 42-year-old had even reached Mount Athos and the Petraki Monastery.
