How special operations are modernizing: “Being a para-commando is no longer limited to camouflage with your weapon”


Reduced schedules, possibility of telecommuting, Internet access: the special operations regiment has been transformed.

In full rejuvenation, the Belgian para-commando unit faces many challenges. As in all ranks of Defence, recruitment needs are significant and the shortage of manpower threatens its proper functioning. In order to attract new recruits, the 2nd Flawinne Commando Battalion is organizing an open day this Saturday in Marche-les-Dames on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Commando Training Center and the 80th anniversary of the commandos. The opportunity to learn more about the most fantasized job in the army with Colonel Frédéric Linotte, commander of the special operations regiment and the second Flawinne commando battalion.
