During the year 2023, thousands of people benefited through Humanitarian Parole and 386,000 citizens entered the US, of which 38.5% of this total are Haitians; 24%, Venezuelans; 20%, Cubans; and 17.5%, Nicaraguans.

However, both applicants, immigration lawyers and sponsors fear that Parole approvals will decrease, which is a great hope for those fleeing poverty and extreme situations.

The information was shared by Telemundo who interviewed Cuban citizens who were denied the request for Humanitarian Parole.

“This was our only hope,” Cyntia Ferrá said for Telemundo.

“I am here with my two children. My husband is in the United States, with an I22A, waiting for a solution for his case. The Humanitarian Parole was the opportunity to be able to meet again,” he added.

Likewise, he explained that his request has just been denied after a year of waiting.
