A terrorist threat hovered over the Miss Belgium 2023 party in De Panne. Fortunately, the police did an outstanding job and the threat was averted.
But the evening was obviously complicated for the candidates but also for the hosts, including Gaëtan Bartosz, who spoke at the end of the evening, shocked and in tears, on his Instagram account.
“It was a very complicated evening,” says the host of Radio Contact. “I was very, very scared going up on stage. I was very, very afraid of finding myself as some have found themselves at the Bataclan. Even if it was under control, that the police were there. I was very, very scared (…) I wanted to apologize for the few technical bugs we had because of the stress, because of all these events. (…) There were technicians who left because they were afraid, we ended up with a slightly reduced team, with people who were a little less concentrated… But I was very afraid. When you find yourself on stage, when you’re scared, when you have to host a program, when you have to do live, it’s not always easy… We’ve done the job, but I’m not at all happy with the performance…”, he says facing the camera.
