Al-Marsad Newspaper: The poet Fahd Al-Shahrani revealed the reason for naming him the “Dean of Young Poets”, indicating that he is one of the great sellers of poems, and the most expensive poem he sold was 150,000 riyals.

Al-Shahrani said, during an interview with the “Sawalves Ramadan” program broadcast on Al-Khaleejia TV: I did not call myself the “Dean of Young Poets.” History gave me this name, and everyone knows that.

And he added: Selling poems brings money, and I have often sold some of my poems. I am one of the biggest who sold his poems, whether by writing someone else’s name on it or my own, for selling is of different types.

He added: It is possible that someone has an occasion that he wants me to write something good to say on this occasion, or another person takes a poem to dedicate to his wife, or someone else, and he puts it in the field he wants. I sold it and gave him the rights and took my right.

He pointed out that the most expensive poem I sold is 150,000 riyals, and whoever buys a poem from me and puts his name on it and says my poem and I wrote it, “This is a job… God multiplies them.” It’s a beautiful job. I’m writing the verses of a poem in five or ten minutes, something sweet.
