Al-Marsad newspaper: The son of one of the women affected in an incident that caused a doctor to blind 6 people following he performed surgeries on them in a private hospital in Qassim, revealed new details regarding the incident.
The son said, during his meeting with Al-Ekhbariya channel via Al-Nahar bulletin, that the official court session proved that the doctor committed the incident by 100%.
He pointed out that he went with his mother to the King Khaled Eye Hospital in Riyadh and found that she was suffering from a reversal of the lens, and the doctors told him that a quick operation must be performed to extract the lens, because the cornea was severely damaged, and a corneal transplant was performed.
He explained that they took steps to treat the eye quickly, by performing the operation, then cleaning the eye, and then performing a laser operation, noting that his mother became better and the pain eased following the laser operation, but it did not completely disappear and she is still suffering from the effects of the medical error.
The doctor is still on the job
He also revealed that he had contacted the hospital where the doctor who caused his mother’s medical error works last week and found that he was on the job, then they told him that he had been cleared this week for 3 weeks and that he would return to work once more.
