It kills 90 percent of those infected with it… An Arab country is preparing to confront the deadly virus

The health authorities in Egypt began moving to confront the Marburg virus, known as the “deadly disease”, which kills about 90 percent of those infected with it, in the wake of Equatorial Guinea declaring its first outbreak of the disease, following the death of at least 9 people.

The virus is considered very dangerous, as the World Health Organization classified it from the pathogenic risk group, which requires the fourth level of containment equivalent.

An official source in Egyptian health said that the ministry issued a guide that includes all the details about the new virus that is causing concern at the present time, and the procedures that medical staff should take into account if any case is suspected, provided that a set of preventive measures are applied during the coming period.

The source stressed that “Egypt is free of any infected people with this virus, but the health authorities used to take such a measure if the World Health Organization announced the spread of viruses that have a high risk rate.” (Sky News)
