Mariusz Szczygieł asked the actor if he could say an educational sentence: “You must not drive under the influence of alcohol.” The actor repeated his words, but added that in Italy, where he likes to go on holiday, you can drive after drinking.
– But we are in Central Europe… – Szczygieł said. “Yes, yes…” came the reply.
When asked about his biggest failure, Stuhr admitted that “it was losing my driving license.”

When asked how to deal with failure, the actor answered perversely: “Forget it.” At least that was the case with me.
– I’m afraid that if we forget about failure, it won’t build us up, it won’t change us – commented Mariusz Szczygieł.

In October 2022, the actor got behind the wheel of a car under the influence of alcohol. As he admitted, he drank a few glasses of wine with dinner and drove to the arranged interview. On the way, he hit a 44-year-old motorcyclist, but – as he said – he didn’t notice it and didn’t stop to check what happened. The injured party chased after the actor and called the police, who determined that the actor had 0.7 per mille of alcohol in his blood.
Investigators determined that Jerzy Stuhr did not give way to a motorcyclist while turning, which led to a road collision and created a threat to road safety.
The court sentenced him to a fine of PLN 4,000. zloty. Earlier, a penalty of PLN 3,000 was imposed in the penal order. PLN, but the prosecutor’s office objected.
