Karate teacher who abused children in Cerro Navia sentenced to 50 years in prison

The The First Oral Criminal Trial Court of Santiago sentenced a karate teacher to four sentences of 12 years in prison -48 years in total- for four cases of child sexual abuse, committed in the commune of Cerro Navia.

The harassment occurred between April and September 2015 in the house of the perpetrator, Luis Gatica Fuentesoperator of a company that in his free time was dedicated to teaching martial arts.

The victims are four and their ages fluctuated between 8 and 13 years old at the time of the crimes.

Those affected reported the touching to the psychologist of the school where they attended, who then told their parents. These, finally, exposed them to the PDI, which arrested the subject in January 2016.

Gatica must also purge 818 days in prison -two years and three months- for the crime of storing child pornographic material. The latter, after the detectives who searched his house found videos of the abuse. She had cameras in the room.

On that occasion, the police seized various species, including a CPU tower and an external hard drive with 59 images and at least 11 videos of the abuse.

Likewise, the special penalty of subjection to the surveillance of the authority was imposed during the 10 years following the completion of the main sentence, and the absolute perpetual disqualification for positions, trades or professions exercised in educational environments or that involve direct and habitual relationship with minors.
