2023-06-03 16:56:54

A vast traffic control operation focusing on drug trafficking but also traffic violations was carried out this Saturday near the E25 motorway in Fourons, on the border with the Netherlands. An international action since it brought together the police of the three Benelux countries.

In the parking lot, dozens of police and regularly new cars checked. They are registered in various countries and the control is meticulous. “Today it is the three police forces but also other services such as customs or trackers with dogs who are grouped together, coming from the three Benelux countries, therefore the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. A hundred police and even a helicopter and dogs. It usually gives good results. Over the whole of last year we have seen that tens of kilos of cocaine, cannabis, marijuana and ecstasy pils have been seized“, rejoices Michel Thielemans, Deputy Secretary General of the Benelux Union.
