Until this Sunday there is a cumulative of 5 million 606, 827 total cases and 321,103 deaths from COVID-19.

The last time that Mexico had a low record was on March 7, with 42 deaths from the disease and 1,684 infections. With these figures, a decrease can be presumed that will give way to the end of the fourth wave of infections, which began between December 2021 and January 2022. According to the report of the Ministry of Health, 20,750 active cases are estimated in the country, which which represents 0.4% of the total epidemic. In addition, it is estimated that around 4 million 897,155 have managed to recover from the disease. Regarding hospitalizations, there is a decrease of 95% with respect to the maximum peak, registered in January 2021. Today, the occupancy of general beds is 9%, and of beds with a ventilator, 7%.

Most of the pandemic in Mexico continues to be concentrated in: Mexico City, State of Mexico, Nuevo León, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Tabasco, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz, Puebla and Sonora, which account for 64% of all cases. A week ago, the Ministry of Health declared Mexico City a green traffic light, with which it was able to restart all its activities 100% after more than two years of intermittent closures. Even due to the low incidence of infections, the country’s capital declared this Sunday the gradual closure of all its health kiosks that offered free tests for the detection of COVID-19.
