The government spokesperson, Camila Vallejo, assured that they are interested in the Los Ríos region being calm in terms of security and pointed out that they are making a series of efforts to strengthen the capacities of the police.
The Minister of the General Secretariat of Government (Segegob), camila vallejoreached Valdivia, River regionto lead the public account of citizen participation, where she was accompanied by authorities of I approve Dignity y Democratic Socialism who made it to Harnecker Park.
Nearly 200 citizen organizations were present there and in that place the government spokesperson referred to different issues, including security.
In the place, Minister Vallejo was consulted about a possible visit from the president, Gabriel Boricbefore the end of the year. According to him, he said, at the moment he cannot anticipate the arrival of the President.
“I can’t get ahead of anything. The President has said that he wants to visit all the regions, he has been on it (…) He has presented the commitment to visit all the regions before the end of this year“said the Secretary of State.
All this despite the fact that the regional governor, Luis Covertinoannounced that they are carrying out a series of preparations to receive the President -possibly- before the end of the year.
“We are interested in the region being calm”
Another of the issues that the Minister addressed was the Situation of the members of the CAM who are serving preventive detention in the Valdivia prisonwith five of them even running a liquid hunger strike.
According to Vallejo, the Executive is interested in the Region being calm regarding security standards.
“We are interested in the region being calm; to be calm regarding the standards that correspond to prison policy regarding the people who are imprisoned and their conditions. In that the commitment is clear”, added the Minister.
The transfer of those who are part of the Arauco Malleco Coordinator to the prison in the regional capital, caused the cross-rejection of parliamentarians from different sectors.
In addition, they have expressed their concern about the possible transfer of criminal acts to the area, given the arrival of highly dangerous prisoners at the Valdivia prison.
