Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation: Azov’s appeal to foreigners about corridors was “to the wrong address”

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation commented on the appeal of the commanders of the Azov regiment (recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation), which was disseminated by the Ukrainian media, in which the conditions for the military to leave the territory of the Mariupol plant Azovstal were named. In particular, the statement said that the military was ready to evacuate with the assistance of “third” countries, including on their territory, but did not agree to surrender.

“We are separately informing the command of the Azov nationalist battalion,” said Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, “who made a video message to the world community, including the leaders of Great Britain, the United States and Turkey.”

Mizintsev stressed that “Azov” asks these countries “to provide them with “green corridors” and ensure the exit of civilians, allegedly located at Azovstal.”

“You’ve come to the wrong address,” Mizintsev said.

According to him, it was necessary to apply “directly to the leadership of Ukraine, which has treacherously abandoned you for a long time,” and the Russian Federation offered “complete security and the provision of qualified medical care” on the condition of surrendering without weapons.

“The Russian Federation has done everything to save your lives,” Mizintsev said.
