Morocco has reacted officially to the events that Burkina-Faso is currently going through. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated, in its statement made public, that the Kingdom of Morocco expresses its deep concern following the events experienced by Burkina Faso in recent days.
“Morocco calls on all parties to show restraint, to favor the supreme national interest and to work for the security and peace of mind of the Burkinabè people”, specifies the same source.
Morocco, which is united to Burkina Faso by strong ties, supports the efforts of ECOWAS for a peaceful transition in this brotherly African country.
“In addition, and in accordance with the High Royal Instructions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad has set up a unit to monitor the situation of the Moroccan community established in Burkina Faso, in coordination with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Ouagadougou,” the statement concluded.
