A 52-year-old from the Braunau am Inn district drove her car on January 7, 2023 at around 12:50 p.m. on the B147 Braunauer Straße at the market square in Uttendorf in the direction of Mattighofen. At that time, a 40-year-old Afghan citizen from the Braunau district and her 13-year-old daughter were on the protective path near the Vitzthum brewery to cross in the direction of the Green Line. Due to the low sun, the 52-year-old should have overlooked the two pedestrians and there was a frontal collision. The 40-year-old was thrown against the windshield and then onto the road by the impact with her head. Her daughter was slightly touched and also fell. The woman was injured to an undetermined degree and, after first aid by the emergency doctor, was taken to the St. Josef Braunau hospital. Her daughter suffered minor injuries and was allowed to leave the hospital after receiving outpatient treatment, police said.
