Fans of the Kaufland supermarket chain will have a new shopping opportunity in Munich: another store will open on July 13th. Where “already” is the wrong term.
According to the website, the supermarket chain Kaufland has over 770 branches in Germany. Now another one is being added – namely in the Mira shopping center at Schleißheimer Straße 506 in the north of Munich at Hasenbergl. According to the official statement on Facebook, the new Kaufland will open this Thursday (July 13). The term “already” is relative.

Because: As early as 2020, the new supermarket was announced on Mira’s Facebook page with the words “It’s going to be huge!”. With an opening in 2022. Nothing came of it – the planned start was delayed by more than half a year. In the meantime, there have been numerous inquiries from impatient people as to when the new shopping facility will finally be available. Especially since the Rewe branch in the shopping center had already closed in January 2022, leaving the residents with no option for local supplies.

Everyone gets them in XL format now. 30,000 articles on 3,500 square meters will be waiting for customers in Mira-Kaufland. Even if it’s far from the company’s biggest market: how BW24 writes, there is one with 12,000 square meters at the main location in Neckarsulm. The Munich player is now under the leadership of house manager Ivonne Schlodder and with an 80-strong team at the start. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
“It’s about time… I’m really excited,” writes a user on Facebook. “Finally! I’m happy”, “All Hasenbergl is then inside” and “To be honest, I didn’t believe in it anymore”, write others. The promise of opening in 2022 could not be kept, and some are resentful. But now the new branch is there, and the well-known numerous Kaufland fans can throw themselves in.

Hopefully you won’t experience disappointment like some have documented on social media – because everything doesn’t always go smoothly at Kaufland: A customer fled a few months ago with the words “Hey Kaufland, just say if we shouldn’t shop with you anymore”. Aldi. Another customer was even made to cry at a Kaufland checkout.
