As of this Tuesday, October 24, the Vottem market is changing its opening hours. The City of Herstal has decided to take into account the demand of citizens and merchants. In total, more than 1,000 people were questioned during a paper survey carried out at the beginning of October, and 90% of them voted for a late market.

From 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Votte market will therefore take place from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Tuesday – instead of 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – to allow people who work in the morning to get there: “I think that the transition to ‘night’ mode will further more support the current commercial dynamic at Place Gilles Gérard, especially with the upcoming arrival of two ATMs,” explains Thierry Willems, Alderman in charge of Commerce in Herstal.
