The real case of picking up “gold” happened in mainland China. A 10-year-old elementary school student in Ziyang City, Sichuan Province picked up a bag of gold ornaments worth 160,000 RMB (about NT$700,000) on the roadside on his way to school. Confused, he had to call his mother for help. The boy’s mother immediately notified the police, and then returned the bag of valuables to the owner. The boy’s act of kindness also attracted the attention of the outside world. Knowing that the mother and son’s family was in difficulty, the relevant local department decided to subsidize it. Boys, 6,000 RMB (approximately NT$26,000) tuition fee per year until high school graduation.
According to Lu media reports, the incident happened on February 23. On the way home from school, a 10-year-old boy surnamed Zhong found a slightly heavy paper bag. He opened it and saw that it was full of yellow gold. He thought the owner would return to look for it. So he stayed there and waited for 2 minutes, but he didn’t see the other party claiming it for a long time. At a loss, he had to ask his mother for help.
When the boy’s mother learned about it, she told the boy to take the gold home first, and immediately called the police to report the incident, “My son said he found the gold. I don’t know if the gold he said is real or not, but I know he must have picked something up.” The boy was worried about being thieves when he returned home, so he took out the U-shaped lock of his bicycle and locked the bag of precious “gold” tightly in the closet.
Not long after, the police received a report from the public about the loss of gold jewelry. It turned out that the owner was an employee of a jewelry store. On the same day, he rode a shared bicycle to pick up the child. It was forgotten in the car basket, but it disappeared without a trace when I looked back. Fortunately, it was picked up by a kind boy and returned.
