The information stated that “the Qatari envoy arrived in Beirut hours ago and will meet with MP Muhammad Raad this evening or Saturday morning at the latest. Hezbollah was informed that he will say in clear terms to Raad, ‘We put forward the army commander as president, but Franjieh, we will be responsible for convincing him to support Aoun.’
She continued, “The Qatari envoy carries a new formula that takes into account Le Drian’s findings that there is no solution for Franjieh or Bazaour, and he will raise the ceiling to confirm that this is the last chance for Lebanon to try to elect a president. Otherwise, bear the consequences if you fail the mission.”
Hezbollah sources told MTV, “We are preparing for what might happen if the Qatari envoy fails in his effort, and therefore we are likely to follow the Qatari presidential settlement.”
