Quavo Announces New Album Qrömelife Release Date

Quavo Teams Up With Pharrell Williams for Third Studio Album Qrömelife

Atlanta rapper Quavo has officially announced his third studio album, Qrömelife, set for release on October 2 (according to Rolling Stone). Executive produced by Pharrell Williams, the upcoming record marks Quavo’s first full-length LP since his 2023 project Rocket Power.

The long-teased album has been preceded by a steady rollout of singles. Fans have already heard the braggadocious Williams-produced tracks “Haavin,” which dropped in June, and “Trance (Walk It Down),” released in August. To coincide with the album announcement, Quavo also dropped “Backwards,” a new track featuring a guest verse from T.I., which he originally previewed live at WWE’s Sunday Night Main Event.

Inside the Creative Process on Yachts and at Louis Vuitton

Crafting Qrömelife was far from a standard studio experience. According to Quavo’s interview with V-103 Atlanta, Pharrell Williams transported the creative process to unconventional environments. “This man got us recording on yachts in the middle of the ocean and Louis V headquarters, you seeing every new bag, one of one,” Quavo said. The rapper noted that the luxurious, high-inspiration setting pushed him to bring his absolute best to the microphone.

Beyond the lavish surroundings, Williams kept the Atlanta native focused. “While chipping away at Qrömelife, he just reminded me to just stay on track,” Quavo shared with V-103 Atlanta. Quavo commended Williams for prioritizing the original way to make a record—focusing heavily on hooks, bridges, and tight verse structures while maintaining sonic versatility.

The Sound of the Trap Meets High Fashion

The newly released single “Backwards” heavily leans into the artists’ shared Atlanta roots, featuring an intro where Quavo boasts, “ATLA, ATL, Atlanta / Middle of the trap, you see a Phantom.” The track list for Qrömelife will feature 11 additional songs alongside the already-released tracks, though the complete official track list remains under wraps.

Working with Williams—who also serves as the menswear Creative Director for Louis Vuitton—meant adhering to a rigorous artistic standard. “Working with P, he going to challenge you,” Quavo explained to V-103 Atlanta. “He going to make sure that all these songs is songs.” As October 2 approaches, the hip-hop community waits to see how this high-end oceanic and fashion-house-inspired experiment translates to the final track list.
