Al-Marsad Newspaper: A new study revealed the effectiveness of certain foods in reducing the risk of “weakness” in the elderly in the long term.

The study found that foods such as apples and blackberries contain a flavonoid called quercetin, and may be the most important ingredient in combating a health condition associated with the aging process.

The study pointed out that this compound can also be found in fruits, vegetables, leaves, seeds, red onions, grains, kale and other nutritional supplements.

The study indicated that for every 10 mg of flavanols consumed per day, “fatigue” decreased by 20 percent, and that one medium-sized apple contained regarding 10 mg of flavanols.
