Renault will launch four vehicles that will be 100% electric in Colombia by 2023

From Brazil, the Renault Group announced that it will bring to the Latin American market the 100% electric version of four new vehicles. These are the Kangoo E-Tech, Master E-Tech, Kwid E-Tech and Megane-E-Tech models.

With this, the company takes another step to position itself, as indicated by Renault, as the leading brand in sustainable mobility in the region and in the world.

The new 100% electric vehicles that will arrive in countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Argentina are located within the utility and passenger vehicle segments.

“The plan that we are bringing will transform Renault, because it will go from being a traditional manufacturer to a company that produces sustainable and innovative technologies,” said Fabrice Cambolive, COO of Renault Brand.

In this way, Renault will seek to increase the share of its electric vehicles that it has circulating throughout the world, which already total more than 450,000. “Renault is a pioneer in electrification with more than 10 years of experience in the manufacture and sale of vehicles,” added Luiz Fernando Pedrucci, CEO for Latin America of Renault. Today, electric vehicles represent 5% of the Group’s total income. With the reaffirmation of this commitment to sustainable mobility, the brand launched what would also be its objectives as a vehicle company. These three brand visions are included in recovering profitability, betting on more sustainable segments and the electrification of its range of vehicles.

“We are announcing the expansion of the 100% electric range in Latin America. We are leaders in the electric vehicle market in Latin America”, said Pedrucci. And it is that to date, Renault has already sold around 3,300 electric vehicles since 2013.

As for how the market is made up at the regional level within Renault’s numbers, Brazil is the country where the brand sells the most electric vehicles, and the second market is Colombia. And it is that Renault, and the other brands that operate in the region and that already have electric vehicles in their portfolio, are betting on marketing around 200,000 100% electric vehicles per year.
