Russian Foreign Minister arrives in Cairo on an official visit

On Saturday evening, Cairo International Airport, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived on an official 24-hour visit to the country, during which he will meet with a number of officials to discuss issues of common concern.

Informed sources at the airport said, “Lavrov will start his 5-day African tour by visiting Egypt. During the tour, he will visit Congo, Uganda and Ethiopia. Lavrov will deliver a speech at the Arab League, during which he will address the development of Arab-Russian relations.”

The sources added that Lavrov arrived on a private plane, and the arrival procedures were completed in the VIP lounge at the airport, and he was received by a number of officials.

It is noteworthy that Lavrov said in an exclusive interview with “Novosti” agency and “RT” earlier, that Russia has long-term and good relations with Africa, since the days of the Soviet Union, adding that Moscow has been actively working in recent years to restore its position on the continent, noting This approach is shared by African countries.
