Schertz Man Arrested on Multiple Charges After Teen Allegedly Abused

Robert Wayne Vaughan Niznik faces five criminal charges in Bexar County following allegations from a teenage girl that he sexually abused her, supplied her with drugs, and restricted her movements at a Schertz property, Fox San Antonio reported.

Five Charges Filed Against Niznik in Bexar County

The Schertz resident is held in the Bexar County Jail with bail set at a combined $333,000. Arrest reports outline five distinct charges against Robert Wayne Vaughan Niznik: aggravated sexual assault of a child, indecency with a child by sexual contact, injury to a child, unlawful restraint of a child, and endangering a child.

The victim was 14 years old when the relationship began. She initially traveled to the RV park to sell drugs under an agreement to split profits evenly, according to the arrest documentation.

That arrangement shifted into a sexual relationship. I ended up sleeping with him to get drugs, she told investigators.

Interviews at ChildSafe Detail Abuse and Control

During an August 5, 2026 interview at ChildSafe in San Antonio, the victim described a complex dynamic with Niznik. She considered him a relative through her stepfather’s family and was searching for a father figure.

Robert said he was my dad, she told investigators. I was looking for a father figure.

The girl stated that Niznik repeatedly subjected her to sexual encounters while she was under the influence of methamphetamine and DMT. She reported that he recorded some of these incidents on his cellphone and noted that she struggled to refuse him. I have a hard time saying ‘No,’ she said.

Investigators conducted a follow-up interview on August 18, 2026, where the victim detailed additional encounters and stated that the relationship continued intermittently into 2026.

Confinement and Drug Addiction Struggles

The victim lived on Niznik’s property for approximately two months. Arrest reports indicate that he restricted her movements and stripped her of communication tools.

No phone. No way to leave. No way out, she described to investigators, adding that Niznik warned her that cameras monitored her movements and that someone would alert the police if she attempted to depart. The whole reason I was there was because he trapped me, she stated.

The arrest reports also document her battle with drug addiction, which began at an early age. By the time of her interviews with investigators, she had maintained sobriety for approximately a month and a half. My sobriety is a big deal for me, she said. Nobody’s gonna take my sobriety away from me.
