Global ticketing firm SeatGeek has rolled out a production-ready integration with Priority Technology Holdings, operating as Priority Commerce, to give sports teams, venues, and enterprise ticketing clients direct access to Priority Commerce’s advanced payment infrastructure and Level III transaction data processing.
The integration, announced on Tuesday, August 4, allows organizations partnering with SeatGeek to qualify for lower interchange rates on eligible commercial card transactions. By embedding these financial tools directly into the ticketing platform, the collaboration bridges card-not-present and card-present environments, offering teams unified command over their financial operations.
The Bottom Line
- Cost Reduction: Access to Level III transaction data allows venues and teams to unlock lower interchange rates on commercial card transactions.
- Infrastructure Expansion: The production-ready integration unifies card-present and card-not-present payment flows across SeatGeek’s enterprise ecosystem.
- Strategic Growth: The move follows Priority Commerce’s multiyear partnership announced in July with the Pittsburgh Steelers to modernize NFL ticketing payments.
Unlocking Level III Data to Compress Processing Overheads
By integrating Priority Commerce’s capabilities, SeatGeek clients can now transmit Level III transaction data directly through the checkout flow.
“Modern sports and entertainment organizations need a commerce partner that provides total command of their payments environment,” said Tom Priore, CEO of Priority Commerce, in the August 4 release. “This integration delivers the advanced tools teams and venues need to maximize their cash flow and optimize operational control to drive higher profits.”
Consolidating the Venue Financial Ecosystem
SeatGeek has been testing a broader thesis regarding the future of live events: a venue experience driven by digital identity, payments, and real-time personalization.
In a May interview, Brannon Desseyn, product manager at SeatGeek, noted that payments represent a recent addition to this thesis. “Given the advancements in card issuing technology and the things that Apple and Google have been doing on the wallet front, it made it very easy for us to make progress here in a very quick amount of time,” Desseyn explained.
Chris Sanger, vice president of payments and compliance at SeatGeek, echoed that sentiment regarding the Priority Commerce integration. “Priority Commerce is a strong addition to the SeatGeek platform,” Sanger stated. “It gives our partners more choice in how they manage their payment operations, and access to new financial tools.”
Financial Mechanics of the Priority Commerce Engine
The integration leverages Priority Commerce’s connected commerce engine, which demonstrated growth across its three core operating segments—Payables, Treasury Solutions, and Merchant Solutions—during the first quarter. The company is scaling its footprint across professional sports, highlighted by a multiyear agreement struck in July to modernize the financial infrastructure of the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers.
| Strategic Pillar | Operational Focus | Integration Impact |
|---|---|---|
| Merchant Solutions | Processing and gateway infrastructure | Unifies card-present and card-not-present ticketing flows |
| Level III Data | Detailed commercial transaction transmission | Unlocks lower interchange rates on commercial cards |
| Treasury Solutions | Cash flow and liquidity management | Maximizes operational control for sports franchises |
