Sénégal Rêves d’Enfants Association Hosts Successful Sewers Flea Market

The “puces des couturières” sewing fair in Foulayronnes drew steady crowds and strong vendor sales on Sunday, October 11, overcoming a slower-than-usual morning start to satisfy organizers and participants alike.

Morning Slowdown Gives Way to Strong Sales

Stands opened early inside the village hall as organizers from the “Sénégal rêves d’enfants” association prepared for the day’s bargain hunters. Association president Véronique Trévisiol noted the initial pace felt subdued compared to previous outings.

Habituellement, dès l’ouverture ça se bouscule là c’est un peu plus calme.

Despite the delayed arrival of morning shoppers, the final tally exceeded expectations. When checking in with vendors as the event concluded, the association president found unanimous satisfaction with their sales figures.

Attracting Younger Buyers With Low-Cost Knitwear

This year’s edition introduced a budget-friendly sweater fair featuring items priced at €2 and €5. The new addition successfully targeted younger demographic groups who favor second-hand shopping habits. Favorable weather conditions also supported the turnout.

Following the success of the October event, the association has already scheduled its upcoming winter markets. The holiday schedule opens on Saturday, December 5, running from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM inside the Galion. The festive markets continue the following day, December 6, in Laroque-Timbaut, before concluding in Pont-du-Casse on Saturday, December 12, and Sunday, December 13.

Date Event Location
December 5 Christmas Market (10h-18h) Le Galion
December 6 Christmas Market Laroque-Timbaut
December 12–13 Christmas Market Pont-du-Casse

In the interim, the association continues to host a weekly clothes-clearing sale every Friday from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM near the Saint-Martin hall in Foulayronnes. Additional information remains available through the association’s contact line at 06 58 28 17 71.
