Several motorists caused accidents on the French-speaking highways this Saturday. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
A little before 8 a.m. on Saturday morning, it was on a Vaud motorway that a single motorist involved had a spectacular accident at the height of the Glion Tunnel. The driver, ending his race on the roof, was taken over by an ambulance for a check, which fortunately revealed nothing serious, indicates the Vaud police. One of the lanes was temporarily closed to clear the debris.
A little later in the morning, a double accident occurred at the Nid du Cro motorway entrance in Neuchâtel. A first collision took place when a driver hit a wall and spun while crossing the two lanes of traffic. In order to support this motorist, a police car was posted in the ramp to signal to motorists to slow down. “But people continued to drive at 80km/h and accelerate, while winking to see what was happening, says a reader, witness to the facts when he was providing first aid. Inevitably, there was a second accident.
A second motorist also slid into the same curve as the first vehicle, also performing a spin and ending his race by crashing into the police vehicle. Fortunately, the second accident caused no injuries.
A seriously injured in Bern
In the canton of Bern, a third accident had more serious consequences on Saturday morning. Two cars collided from behind in the Gléresse tunnel, on the A5. A passenger was seriously injured and had to be airlifted by Rega, while one of the drivers was taken to hospital by ambulance. The tunnel remained closed for several hours during the rescue and the clearing of the debris. An investigation has been opened.
