The Sony World Photography Awards 2023 exhibition opens its doors again at Somerset House in London from 14 April to 1 May 2023. In the 16th Sony World Photography Awards cycle, the competition remains the world’s greatest and most prestigious photography competition; It supports the best contemporary photographic works from around the world, and provides the participating photographers with opportunities to showcase their work around the world and build their promising career.
As part of the ongoing development of the culture of photography, the Sony Foundation is supporting this competition by providing a global platform for current talent; Participation is free, and a jury of leading experts in the field evaluates the photographers’ work anonymously.

This year, the World Photography Organization is announcing a new award for stories, people and organizations whose work highlights one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Environmental Development Goals, to include images of climate change situations, highlight environmental technologies and innovations, or celebrate individuals and groups making a difference.
The winning photographer will receive a $5,000 cash prize and a presentation of their work at the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition in London. It is worth noting that all photographers participating in the professional competition are eligible to win the prize.
Single Show for Best Photographer
The World Photography Organization has announced a new award for Best Photographer of the Year 2023, as well as a cash prize of $25,000, a suite of Sony digital imaging equipment, and participation in the Sony World Photography Awards book and exhibition. The winner of this award will have a solo show of his work as part of the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition in London the following year. Youth competition format
The Sony World Photography Awards 2023 introduces a new format for a youth competition by opening the door to submission for all individuals under the age of 19, and inviting participants to submit up to three photos related to their daily lifestyle, and members of the jury will choose a final list of 10 photographers to complete the competition for the title of Best Young Photographer of the Year.
