Steve Jones’ Biography – A Life in the Shadow of the Sex Pistols

On October 28th of this year, the cult album “Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols” celebrates its 35th birthday. Perhaps the most important, but certainly the most groundbreaking punk album in music history is still considered an eruptive memorial to a pre-internet hype that changed the music world forever, not only in Great Britain in particular. The managerial genius Malcolm McLaren cast four different but above all destroyed characters, conquered the world with his partner Vivienne Westwood from his London fashion boutique “Sex” and with the Sex Pistols destroyed the sublimity of the successful but unapproachable prog rock, at least temporarily and also made hard and blues rock legends look like mummies. The incredibly short but all the more legendary career of the band has already been squeezed between two book covers by all members – guitarist Steve Jones was the last in 2017. His autobiography “My Sex Pistols Story” is finally being published in German for the album anniversary.
