Stranger Things reclaimed the top spot in Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings for the week of January 19, 2026, with 1.66 billion viewing minutes. The Netflix series edged out Paramount+’s Landman, which secured the No. 2 position with 1.615 billion minutes viewed, according to Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings.
The return to the top for Stranger Things follows a week where it ceded the lead, and underscores the series’ continued dominance in the streaming landscape. The present’s fifth and final season, with episodes released on Christmas Day, initially drove record-breaking viewership, amassing 6.89 billion minutes viewed during the week of December 22-28 – the third-largest weekly total ever reported by Nielsen. December viewing totaled over 15 billion minutes, according to Nielsen data.
Landman, which premiered in November, has consistently performed well, remaining in the top two for several weeks. The series logged over 1.34 billion minutes viewed in second place during the Christmas week, and has maintained viewership above one billion minutes for ten consecutive weeks, according to Nielsen. Season 2 of Landman has drawn a larger female audience, with 49% of viewers identifying as female compared to 46% in the first season.
Beyond the top two, five additional titles surpassed one billion viewing minutes during the week of January 19. Netflix’s The Rip rose to third place with 1.378 billion minutes viewed, appealing particularly to the 35-64 age demographic, which comprised 57% of its audience. His &. Hers, also from Netflix, dropped to fourth place with 1.371 billion minutes viewed, with a similar demographic breakdown of 56% of viewers aged 35-64. HBO Max’s The Pitt held steady in fifth place with 1.191 billion minutes viewed, with Season 2 episodes accounting for 49% of the program’s total viewership.
The remainder of the top ten included Netflix-acquired series Southland, entering the chart with 930 million minutes viewed, followed by the shared title The Closer (Netflix, Peacock, and Pluto TV) with 911 million minutes. Disney+’s Bluey moved up to eighth place with 887 million minutes viewed, while The Traitors on Peacock slipped to ninth with 865 million minutes. The final position was held by the shared title Grey’s Anatomy (Netflix and Hulu) with 844 million minutes viewed.
The streaming landscape remains competitive, with Netflix maintaining the largest presence on the Nielsen Top 10 Overall Streaming chart, featuring six titles, two of which are shared with other platforms. The performance of Fallout on Prime Video, which reached 918 million views during the week of December 22-28, and grew 16% week-over-week with the debut of its second episode, suggests continued growth for the series.
