TCL launches a $258 smartphone in the United States that integrates a stylus into its chassis. One way for this TCL Stylus 5G to offer high-end features at attractive prices.
If we know TCL more for its televisions only for ses smartphones (witness the TCL 20 SE), the brand is far from having said its last word and is launching a new smartphone in the United States.
Its particularity is to carry a stylus, which is quite rare for entry-level positioning. The device is offered in the United States only at only 258 dollars, or approximately 240 euros HT, reports Android Central.
A technical sheet that does not have (too much) to be ashamed of
This smartphone has 128 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM. It works thanks to SoC MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G and runs under Android 12. On the side of its screen, we have a 6.81 inch LCD panel with an FHD + definition, or 1080 by 2460 pixels. The battery comes with a capacity of 4000mAh and can be recharged in two hours with 18W charging.
In the photo part, TCL equips its Stylus 5G with HDR, a 50 Mpx main sensor, accompanied by a 2 Mpx depth lens, a 2 Mpx macro sensor and a 5 Mpx ultra-wide angle. On the front, the selfie sensor is 13 Mpx. Finally, two speakers, for stereo sound, complete the technical sheet, announcing TCL’s website.
In this price range, TCL is behind the competition, especially when comparing the Stylus 5G to smartphones from Chinese brands. But it is not on this ground that TCL wants to go looking for them.
A stylus integrated into the Stylus 5G
The main feature of this TCL smartphone is its stylus, which is not to be carried next to the smartphone since it can be stored directly inside. Several handwritten note taking apps are preinstalled, such as Nebo or MyScript Calculator 2.
Still on the software part, TCL integrates a suite of tools:a custom GIF maker, writing tools, document signing tools, and more. ».
