Apple has taken a significant step towards the release of its highly anticipated augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR) headset, the Apple Vision Proe announced that the TestFlight now supports testing of applications designed for the beta version of visionOS.

In practice, with the update, developers can now test their apps made specifically for the Apple headset. Although the device is not yet available, it is worth remembering that the company will release kits for developers later this month.

These kits will provide developers with the necessary resources to create and test their own AR/VR apps for the handset. Although Apple has not shared all the details regarding the kits, it is likely that developers will receive the headset as part of them.

As announced last June, the Cupertino giant plans to open labs for developers in several countries, including USA, England, Germany, Japan and more.

These labs, according to Apple itself, will offer dedicated spaces for developers to collaborate, learn and improve their mixed reality applications for the upcoming Vision Pro.

In addition to these updates, TestFlight now also supports apps built with the latest beta version of Xcode 15. This means that developers can optimize their applications for iOS/iPadOS 17, macOS Sonoma 14, watchOS 10 e tvOS 17.
