The European Space Agency announced that scientists have discovered that asteroid 2015 RN35 is flying towards Earth.
The agency’s statement read: “Asteroid 2015 RN35 is relatively large and will fly close to Earth, so amateur astronomers can follow it.”
The Daily Express newspaper indicates that the diameter of this asteroid reaches 140 meters, and it will approach Earth at a distance of 680,000 km, so it does not pose any danger to humanity in the near future. British journalists dubbed 2015 RN35 the “Christmas asteroid”.
It will be possible to observe the asteroid on December 15-17, and in Europe until December 19.
