The best-selling album of all time, Thriller, will blow out its 40th candle on November 30, an exceptional anniversary marked by the publication of a special edition of the opus released on November 18. With this album, Michael Jackson achieved the feat of placing in the top 100 Billboard for more than 500 weeks, almost 2 years in a row, a record not so surprising when you consider that the album has sold more than 100 million copies worldwide.
To celebrate this anniversary, the special edition Thriller 40 consists of the original album with 15 tracks in digital version as well as demos never heard before, including the very first version of the worldwide hit Thriller which was called Starlignt originally. With much more positive and bright lyrics and a screaming chorus”Give me some starlight, starlight sun” instead of the iconic “Cause this is thriller, thriller night”.
