The Food and Drug Administration resolves the controversy over the dangers of the ingredients of energy and soft drinks

Al-Marsad newspaper: The Food and Drug Authority said that the ingredients used in energy drinks and soft drinks are safe, indicating that their danger lies in the amount of excessive consumption.

The authority explained that all the ingredients that go into the manufacture of energy drinks and soft drinks have been evaluated by reliable international bodies, and their safety has been proven.

She pointed out that the harm resulting from these drinks is due to increased consumption and a decrease in their nutritional value, and not due to the quality of the materials used in their manufacture.

This came in response to an inquiry about the reason for allowing the import and sale of energy drinks in the Kingdom’s markets, despite the fact that stores are required to put up a warning sign about it.
