“The Last Wave” wins the Grand Prix

The films awarded at the 5th edition of the Educational Film Festival for children in summer camps were revealed on Sunday in Casablanca, during the closing ceremony of this cultural meeting, held from August 10 to 14 under the theme “Consolidating children’s cinema. According to a press release from the “Soura” Association for Cultural Heritage, organizer of this Festival, the Grand Prize went to the film “The Last Wave” by Mustapha Fermati, which won over the jury with its inspiring story and aesthetics.

In addition, Mohamed Louhi’s film “Le pain nu” won the Special Jury Prize, while the Best Junior Actress Prize was awarded to Nour Rajab for her role in the film “Radia” by Egyptian director Chaimae Tafech and that of the best child actor to Omar El Baz for his role in the film “Le pain nu”.

The Public Prize (given by the children of the summer camp) was awarded to the film “Yak Al Bhar” by Yassine Samih. The winning films were unveiled by the jury chaired by actor and director Driss Roukh and composed of actress Mounia Lemkimel, actor Younes Ben Chakour, screenwriter Saâd Ben Hassine, author and painter Mustapha Ghazlani.

This edition of the Festival was distinguished by the organization of several activities and workshops in the summer camps of El Alia (Mohammedia), Harhoura (Témara), Maâmoura (Salé) and Aïn Sbaâ (Casablanca), in addition to the projection of films in the running for the five Festival Prizes.
