According to a survey carried out by The Doctor’s Daily in October 2022, 64% of general practitioners are not ready to delegate certain medical procedures to other health professionals. But that is not the question for the minister, who affirms that “the issue is not at all to replace doctors, but to fully recognize the roles and skills of each, with the sole concern of improving the ‘Health care access “.

“The doctor remains and will remain the control tower of the care process,” insists Frédéric Valletoux. He retains responsibility for coordinating teams, within which nurses will benefit from “additional autonomy and renewed confidence”.

“A big boost”

However, this recent system – the IPA status dating from 2018 – “is not yet fully operational”, regrets the minister. “I am going to give a big boost to the publication of decrees so that all the implementing texts for nurses in advanced practice are taken before the summer,” he insists.
