The truth of a video circulating about armed people trying to hijack a Jordanian plane in Nigeria

Al-Marsad newspaper: An informed Jordanian source confirmed that there is no truth to what is being circulated regarding some people trying to hijack a Jordanian plane in Nigeria, as is apparent in a video circulating on some news websites in Jordan.

And the source, who preferred not to be named, indicated that the video events circulating frequently on social media platforms in Jordan date back to regarding a month from today, Saturday.

He pointed out that the details of the incident revolve around that one of the general Jordanian airlines was heading to one of the internal airports in Nigeria, and because it did not pay the ground fees, handling fees and the price of fuel, it was not allowed to land in that area, which prompted the captain of the plane to change his destination. Towards an airport close to the airport listed on the ticket.

The source explained that the decision of the captain of the plane to change its destination angered and resented the passengers on board, which prompted some of them to try to enter the cockpit, but the presence of the plane’s guard prevented the matter from developing.

He indicated that the company then delivered the passengers to their destination and apologized to them for the event that accompanied their trip.
