The National University of Comahue, public and free, landed in the Río Negro South Line with undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education courses. Away from the big urban centers, young people from Valcheta, Sierra Colorada, Los Menucos, Ingeniero Jaccobaci and Maquinchao They will be able to study this year, among other professions, the teaching staff in Language and Oral and Written Communication, the technical degree in Systems Administration and Free Software. By 2024, they will also be able to enroll in the technical degree in Web Development, Management of Agricultural Companies or in the master’s degree in Learning in Childhood and Adolescence.

«When someone asks what an inclusive policy is, I say that it is this»said the rector of the UNCo, Beatriz Gentile, in the tour he made together with the vice-rector of the house of higher studies, Paul Osovnikar and the dean of the Atlantic Zone University Center, Adriana Goicochea. The implementation of the careers occurred after an agreement with the university headquarters of Viedma (CURZA) and the municipalities.

«The academic proposal is carried out remotely, with asynchronous activities in the virtual classrooms of the university platform and face-to-face in the event that the specificity of the disciplines requires it”, they detailed from the university.

The UNCo makes careers, teachers, technology and other aid available to students such as scholarships and Extension activities, and the municipalities will be in charge of allocating conditioned physical spaces, technology and connectivity for students.

“The private university will not arrive here. Here is the public university with the effort of the national, provincial and municipal States. We open the doors. The ones who now have to go through those doors are you”, said Rector Gentile to the students enrolled in the training nodes.

Gentile assured that in the 21st century “knowing how to read and write is no longer enough. We need knowledge to understand this worldoy to defend our rights. Reading and writing were social demands of the 19th century to defend other rights and even arose before the demand for the vote».

The rector and doctor in History, stated that the management that she heads proposed expand the UNCo to places in Neuquén and Río Negro that have fewer opportunities, «implementing models of shared efforts with the provinces and municipalities. The South Line is already underway,” he stressed, while recalling that the development of the project for the north of Neuquén is pending.

Dean Goicochea said that CURZA works to install the university in the territory, because the objective “is not to think about the center but about the expansion”. He highlighted the coordination effort and the experience accumulated by the Center in previous similar experiences.
