“There is a risk of escalation” –

In Iran, life goes on as normal while the world awaits an “imminent” attack by the ayatollah regime against Israel in retaliation for the bombing of the Persian consulate in Damascus. The Middle East is on alert since the April 1 attack blamed on Israel in which senior members of the Revolutionary Guard died and threats of retaliation against the Jewish state.

“Unfortunately the situation is very tense, there are risks of escalation.” Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said this in response to a question on the situation in the Middle East on the sidelines of the States General of the Economy organized by Forza Italia in Milan. «I spoke for an hour with the Foreign Minister of Iran and urged him to be cautious. I was concerned about protecting the Italian soldiers who are on the border between Lebanon and Israel and I insisted on the need to guarantee merchant traffic through Suez and the Red Sea. I was told – Tajani reported – that the Houthis will not attack merchant ships that do not bring weapons to Israel.”
