Representative Abdul Rahman Al-Bizri reassured that we are in the era of seasonal influenza, whose infections are usually recorded in this period of the year, and there is no truth to the existence of a new mutation of Corona.
Al-Bizri, in an interview with Voice of All Lebanon, said: There are two types of influenza, the “A” known as “H1N1”, which is not swine flu as some describe it, and there is the “H3N2” type, and what we are facing today is the first, calling for careful attention because influenza is a virus that is easily accessible. It affects the lungs and is harsh on certain age groups, such as children, the elderly, and those suffering from immune deficiency and chronic diseases.
He advised against taking antibiotics because they do not work with these types of viruses, and the vaccine is useful in reducing the response to this mutation.
Regarding the reason behind the large number of infections, Al-Bizri pointed out that preventive measures in the time of Corona not only prevented the spread of the virus, but also curbed the influenza, but with the lack of preventive measures, the influenza reappeared and may continue with us until next March.
