Upper Austria League: Edelweiss coach celebrated the falcon dance

A few months ago, the kickers from second division team Kapfenberg went viral on the Internet with their video of the “Falkentanz”: The Styrian footballers jumped and celebrated to the song “Diarabi” by rapper Kaaris – and were celebrated worldwide with millions of views online.

The “Falkentanz” has now also arrived in the Upper Austrian lower house – as it did on Friday in the away dressing room of Edelweiss Linz after the 2-0 win at SPG Weißkirchen/Allhaming. “If you are the first team to beat Weißkirchen on your own pitch in almost four years, you can be very satisfied – and you can also celebrate,” says Stefan Kuranda.

His team was able to inflict a home defeat on the Zebras for the first time since September 4, 2020 – after an impressive home series of 45 unbeaten games. To which the 52-year-old Edelweiss coach danced: “My players persuaded me to do it, I hope they were happy with my performance.” Look for yourself:

There was no coaching effect

There was no coaching effect for ASK St. Valentin in the 0-1 loss in Perg: After the Lower Austrians recently parted ways with coach Willi Wahlmüller, the club also lost under interim coach Gerald Engleder. “It went well at LASK that the assistant coach took over. Unfortunately not for us yet. Gerald knows the team, and we don’t currently see any free coaches who can help us immediately in the current situation,” says sports director Harald Guselbauer, who is already looking for a new coach for the coming season. Maybe also in the national league? “We plan in both directions.”
