The Secretary-General of the Association of Banks, Dr. Fadi Khalaf, denied, in a statement, that “there is no truth to the news of the closure of banks, which is currently circulating through social media.”
It is noteworthy that this news was circulated, following an armed depositor stormed, Tuesday morning, the Lebanese-French Bank in Nabatiyeh, demanding part of his deposit.
The depositor, Muhammad Q, who is a soldier in the army, fired a gun at the door of the BLOM Bank in Sidon, trying to storm it, and was later stopped by an army intelligence patrol.
